The Verve were an English rock band that formed in Wigan in 1990 by lead vocalist Richard Ashcroft, guitarist Nick McCabe, bass guitarist Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. Guitarist and keyboard player Simon Tong later became a member in their first reunion only.

The opening strings are sampled from the 1965 Andrew Oldham Orchestra recording of the Rolling Stones' song "The Last Time", arranged and written by David Whitaker. The Rolling Stones' song was itself strongly inspired by "This May Be the Last Time" from the Staple Singers. The Verve negotiated rights to use a six-note sample from the recording from the recording's copyright holder Decca Records; however, they did not obtain permission from former Rolling Stones manager Allen Klein, who owned the copyrights to the band's pre-1970 songs, including "The Last Time". Although "Bitter Sweet Symphony" had already been released, Klein refused to grant a licence for the sample. This led to a lawsuit with ABKCO Records,

"This place had a great vision in the beginning. Lots of hopes and promises, but the visions are not aligned with reality. Disorganized right from the beginning, and no one seem to want to fix it. Management only cares about making profits and not in-tuned with the day-to-day challenges/needs. Staffing levels have always been an issue. Workers are overworked/burned out, underpaid and under valued. Management lack in recognizing the hard-work and the contributions of the staff. In any role, there is no room for learning-curve, they expect you to be in your role and perform right away! There is also a lot of “special friendships” and “groupings” happening which puts one in a disadvantage when you’re not in this clique. There’s so many expectations working here, on any given day you are a ... Care Aide, Leader, Supervisor, Scheduler, Cook, Housekeeper, Entertainer. Cons: Overworked, underpaid, undervalued."

"Management is unfair, favors their community and others they don’t care, they don’t care about staffs, no communication between management and staff. Even the residents know more information than the staff, hardly a routine, changes constantly. Cons: Negligence, racism, no appreciation, no communication"

"Working in the household is not directed at care at all when working the assisted living household. It’s all housekeeping. Totally not what their vision is, at least staff wise. A lot of turnover already due to this as well as them just being greedy. Management doesn’t actually care about their staff and are sneaky. A few hardworking employees were fired for no good reason and some left due to coworker bullying and positions not what were expected. They lost a handful of very good employees because the standards weren’t up to par or what was explained for the roles when originally hired. Cons: Management are sneaky, job role is not what the job description says"

"I was hired as the Dining Services Manager for a brand new facility. They explained what the role was in the interview. But after opening, the role became very confusing with no defined direction. I feel like I was used to set up the kitchen and programs and then let go. The amount of demand on the DSM was astronomical and they wanted perfection as of day one. It really felt like there was no chance of a learning curve or a chance to implement programs and systems."

Too old fashioned in practice to be considered a "tech" company. Also looks like some possibly fake posts on here to try and save the company rating."

Focus seemed to shift every year or every few months: Failed attempt to break into EU market, Video ad-serving, Programmatic, poor integration with company acquisitions, etc. Despite previous ad-tech experience, it seems I've never had my opinion taken seriously because I wasn't Director/VP-level. This was the norm with others as well. Product team (now all laid off) did a poor job communicating business needs to engineers throughout my whole tenure. No cross-team collaboration (between engineering teams as well as across business units) Little to no mentorship or career growth opportunities"

There was an initial round of layoffs at the beginning of the year and another one recently. They are not paying their publishers and are trying to stitch together a programmatic business. For a company that had been around since 2005 there is no backend UI or processes in place. This is a sinking ship with a lot of in fighting between Sales and Programmatic teams. I was there for less than three months before I saw the writing on the wall. There is no culture and all of the talented people are leaving or being laid off. This is a sinking ship that can't be saved."

"Poor Customer service, high interest rates, will not work with you on adjusting rates. They do not take off fee's or bad reports, 2 missed payments because my mom had passed away, those two payments literally seem to haunt my credit report. I have tried getting them off by talking to Verve Master Card. They refuse"
